Wales has a proud history of linking with Africa.

Across Wales there are thousands of people in hundreds of groups actively linking with Africa - from schools twinned with schools, big volunteer groups raising thousands to support major projects, children asking their local shop to stock fair trade chocolate, to participation in international campaigns to change world trade rules.

The Wales for Africa programme supports a number of groups and activities linking Wales with Africa:

Wales – Africa Community Links – a programme focused on developing excellence in community linking between Wales and Africa to build peace, prosperity and understanding, through mutual development.

Wales for Africa Health Links – a programme focused on facilitating and coordinating an effective approach to the development of the global health agenda in Wales.

International Learning Opportunities – A Public Service development programme offering participants a work-related placement of up to eight weeks in sub-Saharan Africa working

Diaspora – the Wales for Africa programme works with partners to facilitate the work of diaspora communities in Wales in maximising their impact on MDG delivery in their home countries.
