Information on all Visit Wales star grading schemes.
All Visit Wales graded properties are entitled to free promotion through Wales’ network of 65 Tourist Information Centres (TICs).

TICs offer a bed booking scheme – it’s an excellent source of last minute business. As a Visit Wales graded property, you will be eligible to participate in this scheme.

You’ll then be able to take advantage of:

  • Last minute bookings
  • Advanced bookings
  • Free vision panel file entry
  • Free listing on the TIC accommodation lists.

What is it?

It’s an excellent opportunity for you to sell your rooms – at the last minute - through the network of 65 TICs in Wales, and a further 600 centres throughout the rest of the UK. To find your nearest TIC go to the Visit Wales consumer website (external link)

How does it work?

It’s an accommodation booking service for visitors. TICs book last minute accommodation as well as book accommodation in advance for visitors who are on the move, and need somewhere to stay in another area.

All you need to do to benefit from this scheme is make sure you keep in contact with your local TIC. By keeping them up-to-date and informed of any vacancies you may have, the staff will then be able to direct bookings your way.

Is there a cost involved?

The TIC will charge the customer 10% of the total bed & breakfast or self-catering value which you then need to deduct from your customer’s bill.

Whilst the bed booking scheme is therefore not free - it represents excellent value for money. Your local TIC will display details of your property, free of charge. Your details will also be included on the accommodation lists used to respond to general enquiries
