A wealth of statistical information about Wales.

There are 580,000 people in Wales who can speak Welsh, representing approximately 21 per cent of the population.

We rely on accurate statistical information.  This helps us to ensure that Welsh language initiatives and policies are targeted at those that need specific assistance to enable the Welsh language to continue to flourish.

The Welsh Government’s Statistical Directorate collects statistics on the Welsh language.
